Okay...you know that expression "never say never." I use it all the time but I REALLY mean it this time.
I just got this little bad boy here and it has literally changed my life! :)
I have always sworn by my PC. I've been working with PCs for 17 years. I know the ins and outs. I know how they work. When my sister-in-law got her Mac a few months back and I first used it, it literally gave me a headache. Everything seemed "backwards." :) I hated it and I could not, for the life of me, even remotely understand the fascination with these machines, other than their aesthetic beauty.
But then a couple of months ago, I got Carlos' old Mac laptop to use during a trip out of town and I kept it on my desk next to my PC. I played with it a little bit and got "used to" the backwardness of it. When I started getting my gallery ready, I decided to make the leap and have both a Mac and a PC...one at home and one at work. Originally I was going to send the Mac to the office and keep my trustworthy PC at home.
So I went to the Apple store and, purely for the superficiality of it being a new machine and a new challenge, I got the iMac (along with my "free" Nano and printer) and brought it home. It looked so beautiful on my desk...so clean...so....white. :) I also figured it would be convenient because of my iPhone and the iPod. But little did I know...
I started the tedious and yet to be completed process of transferring files and transitioning for the past couple of weeks. This part has not been fun (I'm still not finished). It has literally thrown me off my game and delayed me even further (as if I needed any more delays). But I knew organization would take time with all the external hard drives I have (5 and counting...).
Well, my friends, I can officially and almost shamefully admit that I was so wrong about the Mac. I am a convert through and through. My PC sits in the office now while I get to stare at my beautiful 24-inch white iMac at home! I am in love!!!!!
I never understood the love affair that Mac users have and I used to think it was stupid. But I hate to admit it...THEY WERE RIGHT! It is amazing in every way! :) So, if any of you are contemplating the leap...DO IT!!! There are still some things about PC that I like better but they are not significant enough to stick to PC. Seriously. I'm not kidding. It is a whole other experience (she said as she typed on her beautiful crystal clear screen). :) :) :)
Gosh I HATE being wrong!!!! :)

I have a MAC as well and Love it. I bought Mac Pro for Dummies, I never thought I would use one of these books and it is amazing how much It helped me without having to go to the apple store for sessions all the time

I must say I am with Angie C. I strongly dislike VISTA. That's why I am on my husband's computer instead right now (We have a network in our home). I don't recall exactly why I got myself into a VISTA but MAC is by far what you want to be working with. I love it's integrated motherboard and amazing user friendliness. Glad you were blessed!

Congrats on the Mac....a pc user here but I hate, hate, hate Vista...what's the benefits to switching (I have a Wishblade and I'm not sure what I'd have to do to be able to use it with a Mac so the benefits would have to be great) (whew, run-on sentance!)
